Ceramic Tableware---the traditional concept of ceramic refers to all artificial industrial products based on inorganic non-metallic minerals such as clay. It consists of various products made from clay or a mixture containing clay by kneading, forming, and calcining.

Both the roughest clayware and the finest pottery and porcelain, are of the same category. The main raw material is silicate minerals taken from nature (such as clay, feldspar, quartz, etc.) , so it belongs to the "silicate industry" category, the same as glass, cement, enamel and refractory industries.

The firing and application of ceramic tableware has a long history in China. For various shapes, colorful colors, cool and smooth touch, easy cleaning, ceramic tableware are popular in China.

There are three methods for making ceramic tableware glaze: over-glaze, under-glaze and in-glaze.

Over-glaze ceramics --the colored paper made with pigment, pasted on the glaze or painted directly on the surface of the product, and then baked at low temperature. As the baking temperature can not reach a degree of glaze melting, the color cannot sink into the glaze.
Fingered the over-glaze ceramic, there is an obvious sense of concave-convex.

The baking temperature of the in-glaze ceramic will make the glaze melt, the pigment sink into the glaze, and it will be covered by the glaze layer after cooling. So the surface is smooth, and there is no obvious sense of concave-convex existed.

All the colored decoration of under-glaze ceramics are on the porcelain blank. After glazed, they are baked at high temperature, and the colored surface is covered by glaze, which looks bright,  and feels smooth.
